Works have been completed on the new Aquinas boat shed for Aquinas College, adjacent the banks of the Canning River, on their Salter Point campus. The works were carried out as a design and construct project from original conceptual plans and project brief issued at tender stage. The project involved the demolition of the existing boat shed and adaptions/ upgrade to the access road down to the facility. The new boatshed is a two-storey steel framed building with ample storage for a first-class fleet of boats on the ground floor. It incorporates changing facilities, storage rooms and a fully air conditioned exercise room, with views overlooking the river.
The boat shed was built into the steep sloping ground adjacent the river and had limited and restricted access to the building pad due to its location.
