The Geraldton Cemetery Board commissioned the construction of a new Condolence Lounge adjacent to the existing Funeral Services building, to provide a comfortable uncover room that enables family and friends to gather after a service while still maintaining the current theme of the surrounding structures.
As the Midwest region has grown, so too has the demand on this facility so in conjunction with the construction of the new Lounge building, the Crematorium was extended to house a second larger gas fired Cremator.
The buildings have been constructed with a combination of features such as face brickwork, exposed structural steel and timber beams, architectural metalwork and resilient finishes throughout; the end result is an attractive and welcoming building.
